Mysterious, yet amazing research on dogs relationship with humans!
For those who have pets at home, especially dogs, here’s an amazing and cute research done by Sweden.
We all know that dogs are adorable and are human’s best friend.
Being a dog owner means that you will likely cry at least once for your dog at some point in your life. Dogs are probably the most honest pets on earth and they will most definitely love you forever!
Turns out not only are they our best friends, but they also help use live longer!
Soooo. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between incident of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and dog companionship. This cohort study was done nationwide with up to 12 YEARS of follow-up.
The end results? A Significant reduction in risk of cardiovascular disease when you own a dog! Dogs help us with psychosocial stress factors, such as depression, social isolation (covid-19), loneliness, etc. Dog ownership has also been associated with elevated parasympathetic and diminished sympathetic nervous system activity, lower reactivity to stress and faster recovery of blood pressure (Mubanga et al. 2017). Finally, pet parents also exercise more and are more likely to engage in outdoor activities.
CONCLUSION:
Dogs may be beneficial in reducing cardiovascular risk in their owners by providing social support. They also motivate their caretaker to exercise more!
Dogs help us live longer, so they can LOVE us longer !!
and we LOVE them too :)
